Book ReviewVegan and Vegetarian FAQby Vegetarian Resource Group Review by Erin Pavlina Like the title suggests, this book answers hundreds of questions about veganism and vegetarianism. It was compiled by Davida Gypsy Breier, who works for the VRG, and there's a nutrition section written by Reed Mangels, PhD, RD.
Article continues below This is a great book for people new to veganism. It answers the obvious questions "What do vegans eat?" and the not so obvious, "Does bone china really contain bones?" Even seasoned vegans can learn something new reading this book. It's also great to have on-hand when someone asks you a question you can't remember the answer to. Chances are, this book covers it. I also enjoyed how easy and fast this book was to read. It's not boring. Each question is answered succintly but completely. Areas the book covers are: Most frequently asked questions, vegetarianism in daily life, nutrition, food ingredients, recipes, vegetarian products, cooking and baking, travel and restaurants, soy, vegan concerns, unique questions, questions about the VRG, and a large appendix with resources and fast food tips. It's a nice, quick, light read, and answers the most important questions you will have about veganism. |
