What is your take on soy for children? What I have read so far really makes me not want to give my children soy. Are there other protein alternatives to soy?
Thank you.

My opinion as well as that among the VegFamily staff of dietitians and nutritionists is that soy foods are of the least concern if they are in their natural form, are not genetically modified, are organic, and are a very small part of your diet.
I suggest you read these articles to gain more understanding of the vegan community opinion on the topic.
If you do want to avoid soy altogether that is certainly possible and you can give your child many protein-rich foods without needing soy at all. Check out our Ask the Dietitian section. There you will find several questions about protein sources and some information particularly about children and protein.
Good luck!
