Going Raw During Pregnancy: Is it Healthy?

Is it possible for me to have a healthy pregnancy and baby if I go raw? If so could you give me some guidelines? I would like to make the switch but I am trying to conceive and worry about getting enough nutrition.

First of all, if you are pregnant now or are about to be, and thinking about making major dietary changes you should always consult your physician.

That being said, remember that it will be easier to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy the more balanced and alkaline your body is. Eating a wide range of greens, vegetables, seeds and nuts on a raw vegan diet will help shift your body into that state. The high content of chlorophyll is even said to help with fertility issues. A client of mine had tried to conceive for 13 years, resorting to in vitro and every scientific technology available. When we switched her diet to raw, she conceived within 7 months.

A great resource for you would be Dr. Gabriel Cousen?s book, Conscious Eating. It has a whole section about conceiving and being pregnant as a raw vegan, with specific dietary guidelines to be sure you are getting folic acid, omega 3 fatty acids, and other important nutrients as a conceiving and pregnant mother.
