Boston Cookies
www.bostoncookies.com
Review by Erin Pavlina

Boston Cookies Okay, I live on the west coast, so when I received some Boston Cookies in the mail I was taken aback. What is this? A vegan cookie I haven't heard of yet? I thought I knew them all. Apparently they haven't quite caught on here on the west coast, but I imagine they soon will.

This is a professionally run company who knows exactly how to please the vegan market. Soft, chewy, cookies. Large. Interesting flavors. Yeah, they know what they're doing. Brownies? Oh yeah. How about Peanut Fudge Brownies? Or Mocha Fudge? Individually wrapped little nibbler cookies perfect for lunch boxes? Okay, I'll take some of those, yes please!

My 16 month old is loving the little nibbler cookies. She points at the wrappers and says in that cute little toddler voice, full of hope, "Cookie?" We've got oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, and her favorite, chocolate chocolate chip. The large cookies also come in these flavors, and a few more like banana walnut, lemon poppyseed, coffee chocolate chip, mocha chocolate chip, and peanut butter. All very tasty. I was particularly impressed with the melt in your mouth chocolate chips.

The brownies are soft and chewy. Steve enjoyed eating them with his tea each afternoon. I liked the peanut fudge brownie best with the nice plump nuts on top.

The company offers their cookies in a gift basket, so think about that next time you need a gift. They welcome corporate orders as well and I believe you can order their products on their website (currently under some construction.) Erin Pavlina is the author of Raising Vegan Children in a Non-Vegan World, and a new cookbook, Vegan Family Favorites. She lives in Las Vegas with her vegan husband and children, Emily and Kyle.
