Chocolate Decadence

It was a cold February morning in 2001 when I went online to try to find myself some chocolate that I could tell Steve to get me for Valentine's Day. Sure, it would have been nice if Steve was surfing the internet himself, but I knew if I was going to get any chocolate for Valentine's Day that I'd better find my own gift. And so it was that I happened upon the Chocolate Decadence web site. I believe I struck gold that day!

I gave Steve the link and told him he might want to maybe possibly consider getting me the chocolate heart box filled with chocolates. He chuckled and said he would consider it, but not to get my hopes up too high. I should mention that Steve doesn't like to buy me chocolate for a variety of reasons, but I really wanted some that Valentine's Day. So I left it in his hands and went on my merry way. Imagine my surprise and delight when on Valentine's Day he presented me with a chocolate heart shaped box filled with chocolates! What a guy! It took about 2 weeks to eat all the chocolate PLUS the box it came in.

Since that day I've had occasion to visit the Chocolate Decadence site a few more times, and I've also seen their chocolates popping up in my favorite health food store. But I wanted to do a thorough review so I asked the company to send me a representative sampling of their products. We got truffles, chocolate buttons, chocolate covered nuts, and one of the almond chocolate bars. I have to say that everything we sampled was fantastic.

All the products at Chocolate Decadence are vegan, and unlike most dark chocolate, the chocolates from Chocolate Decadence are very sweet and creamy. Plus they just came out with a great variety of chocolates for kids; chocolates in the shape of dinosaurs, cars, animals, shells, and fish. Believe me, there's something for everyone. They also offer gift certificates (which make great stocking stuffers.)

Although there are several other companies that make vegan chocolates, I really admire Chocolate Decadence for their commitment, variety, and the great taste of their products. There isn't a dud in the bunch!
