Let's Do...Organic - Gummi Bears

Mmmm, candy...especially gummi bears...but to find a vegan version of this ever popular candy is quite a task. Well look no further because Edward & Sons, Let's Do Organic Brand has the most delicious gummi bears I have personally ever tasted. And yes they are vegan, certified organic and use real fruits and vegetables to achieve the delicious flavours. I have to admit I was hesitant and figured they would not have the same texture of the popular non-vegan brands but they definitely do. They come in four different flavours. Jelly, Super Sour, Classic and Fruity Gummy Feet. The Super Sour are not overly sour but have a sugar coating on them and give a nice tart taste. I actually decided to look-up just exactly what is in the mainstream non-vegan brands and was shocked to see what they actually use! Here are some of the common ingredients:

Glucose Syrup (or corn syrup)
Gelatin (made from the boiled bones, skins and tendons of animals)
Mineral Oil (a petroleum by-product!)
Caranuba Wax ( a lot of times it is now a synthetic version instead of the real one from palm leaves)
Natural & Artifical Flavours (and who knows what those artificial ones really are!)
Color with Tartrazine (totally synthetic and actually causes the most allergic reactions amongst all artificial colours as well as being linked to a ton of other medical conditions!)
Traces of milk protein

Evaporated Cane Juice*
Carrot Juice Concentrate*
Black Carrot Juice Concentrate*
Spinach Powder*
Apple Pectin
Citric Acid
Natural Fruit Flavors
Carnauba Wax (from palm leaves).

Seriously, is there any comparison? I highly recommend these as a special treat for you or your kids!
