I never really thought about what feminine hygiene products were made of until I learned about Natracare. Natracare makes a line of tampons, pads, liners, feminine wipes and baby products that are safer for you and for the environment.

Conventional pads and tampons are bleached with chlorine. This bleaching process, a part of the manufacturing process, leads to dioxin pollution. Natracare decided to make a line of personal care products that are free of chlorine, and made from natural cellulose materials derived from ecologically-managed forests.

You can feel good that they're over 95% biodegradable and compostable. I was happy with all their products that I tried, and I just felt better about using a product made of natural instead of synthetic materials. It's silly to buy organic vegan food, use natural, biodegradable household cleaners and recycle while still using plasticized, perfumed, chlorine-bleached feminine products when you can purchase anything from the Natracare line and feel good about your purchase.
