Product ReviewsEdward and Sons Organic Sauceswww.edwardandsons.com Review by Rebecca Hess I recently had the chance to try three of Edward and Sons Organic Sauces. They were "Wizard's Organic Wheat Free Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce", "Premier Japan Organic Wheat Free Hoisin Sauce", and "Premier Japan Organic Wheat Free Teriyaki Sauce". All three are USDA certified organic and labeled vegan.
I was so excited to find a vegetarian worcestershire sauce (no anchovies) to use when adapting a non-vegan recipe that calls for it. Sadly, it contains natural smoke flavor which I don't find palatable. Luckily I have a willing fiancé who likes to test new products with me. He loved the sauce. He described it as being tangy and perfect as a marinade or poured on directly as a sauce. Article continues below The hoisin sauce contains apple cider vinegar and molasses and has a nice, lightly sweet taste. I liked this sauce best when used sparingly over tofu and veggies. The teriyaki sauce can also be described as tangy. It has nice hints of ginger and is perfect for stir frying. It was a nice break from my usual garlic stir fry sauce. You can learn more about all of Edward and Sons products at www.edwardandsons.com. On that website you can also find which health food stores in your area carry the sauces. While you're at the site check out their other products…they seem to carry a lot of vegan goodies. |
