Stretch Island Fruit Leather

Review by Erin Pavlina

Stretch Island Fruit LeatherRemember fruit roll ups when you were in grade school? Boy, I sure remember them. You'd unroll them, peel them off their plastic backing, wrap it around your finger and suck on it until it fully dissolved. What fun!

I hadn't even thought about fruit leather in years, but I would occasionally notice the fruit leathers from Stretch Island in the store because they were so colorful and always attracted my eye. One day, while shopping with Emily, she pointed at them and said, "I want that." She didn't even know what it was. I picked up the organic apple flavor and read the ingredients. "Organic apples, organic lemon juice, and organic cinnamon." Wow, no fillers or chemicals, and all organic. And the price really made this purchase a no-brainer. Just 33 cents each.

fruit leatherSo I bought three organic flavors and took them home. I gave the apple flavor to Emily and she loved it and asked for another one. She ended up eating three in one sitting. That's a lot of fruit for a 2 year old. I was very impressed. I started keeping them around for when I was cooking her lunch or dinner (too slowly) and she needed something to eat fast.

I tried the fruit leather too and found it to be amazingly flavorful. I was so impressed that I started keeping some in my purse to grab when I needed a quick snack. I like all the flavors, though I will say that the organic flavors taste a lot better than the regular flavors. I really can't find anything wrong with this product. It's healthy, inexpensive, and tastes great. And my toddler loves it. What more can you ask for?
