Vegan Recipes - breakfast
Tahini Oatmeal 
A Middle Eastern twist on a traditional warm cereal breakfast. We eat this for a busy day dinner too!
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup vanilla nondairy milk, heated
- 2 teaspoons tahini
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 3 pitted dates, chopped into pieces
- toasted sliced almonds, for topping
Mix the oats, tahini, sugar and spices together in heatproof bowl. Add the hot milk (soy, rice, or almond). Cover and let stand for 5 minute. Add the chopped dates and almonds, sprinkle with some extra cinnamon and sugar if desired. Makes one serving.
