Why Did You Go Vegan?

About a year and a half ago, I saw a TV interview with a Dr. Lorraine Day (www.drday.com). She was telling about her experience with breast cancer and how she refused all conventional treatments for her illness wanting instead to build her immune system and allow her body to heal itself. She had been raised vegetarian and had never eaten meat in her life. In her persuit of recovery, Dr. Day came up with 10 laws for optimum health. One of which is a vegan diet.

At the time, I was impressed with her story but didn't pay heed to her advice UNTIL..... Last December, I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself. Unlike Dr. Day, I did have a lumpectomy but I refused the conventional follow-up treatments. Instead, I follow the l0 steps to optimum health which begins with being vegan.

My family, (my adult children and husban) are very supportive and have at least become vegetarians. I hope to see them become vegan completely as well.
