Why Did You Go Vegan?

I became a vegetarian at 5 because I was eating a hot dog and wondered where it came from. I asked my mom and she said "I don't know ...a cow or something". I was horrified that I was eating something that used to be alive. I vowed never to eat meat again.

My parents tried to force me but finally gave up when I would spend all of my meal time crying they said that I was going thru a phase and would grow out of it . well I am 20 today and now I have been a Vegan since I was about 14 or 15 years old. I don't understand how anyone can be so heartless and not see that animals feel pain and suffering just like us . It is great to find a web site where others feel the same because it's hard to find anyone who feels the way I do.
