Why Did You Go Vegan?

My boyfriend and I were both vegetarians when we met, but we each did it for different reasons. He did it for the moral and ethical reasons, and I did it mainly because I just don't like meat.

However, as I started reading more about health and vegetarianism, and discovered the true facts about animals and food, the next step for us was naturally becoming vegans. As thinking and caring human beings, it was the ONLY step. I am so sickened by what our meat, dairy, and food industry has turned into that I literally can't eat meat or cheese. (Because I have to admit, I really miss cheese and occasionally want it.)

The best part about it is the health benefits. My boyfriend's allergies subsided, and a host of my health problems just disappeared. (Especially gastrointestinal.) Not only that, we eat better now than we ever did due to my new passion for creative cooking!

It took awhile for us to educate ourselves on all the facets of veganism, and at times it can be expensive feeding my 6'3" rugby player, but we wouldn't trade it for anything. Thank goodness for the Internet - it has allowed people all over the world to share the wealth of information on health and veganism.
